- You’ll reach out to us to discuss cloning your dog. We’ll explain your options and help you safely store your dog’s cells through genetic preservation. If your dog is seriously unwell or has recently died, we’ll also provide time-sensitive instructions for preserving suitable tissue.
- Your veterinarian then collects a small tissue sample. The sample is kept refrigerated and sent to our laboratory so that viable cells can be recovered and grown.
- We’ll establish and preserve your dog’s cell line. Once the tissue arrives, our laboratory will culture new cells from the sample. This stage typically takes around four weeks, after which the viable cells can be cryopreserved until you are ready to make a decision about cloning.
- That’s it! Until you’re ready to initiate the cloning process… At this point, your dog’s genetic legacy is secured. We keep separate samples in separate laboratories, cryopreserved, leaving the door open to if and when you ever decide to move forward with the cloning process itself.
