Yoda

Yoda was a stray that wandered out of the woods, winked at my wife, and immediately decided this was his home. He was about 2 at the time and had heart worms and was obviously abused. It took several years for him to become completely trusting of us, but by that time my wife and I had fallen completely in love with him. I was hesitant to keep him at first because we already had a mini golden retriever that stole our hearts 5 years prior, but adding Yoda to the family. Was a smooth transition.
I lost my wife to Alzheimer’s several years ago and my other dog about a year ago. Yoda was my only connection left to my wife and the thought of losing him too would be too much to bear at this time. He had developed a tumor in his liver that several vets said would be an extremely difficult surgery, so we traveled to a specialty hospital in South Carolina where a Board Certified surgeon was able to remove the tumor. It seemed like this would be a good time to collect genetic samples while he was already under anesthesia so that should I decide to go ahead with the cloning, the samples would already be available. He came through the surgery with flying colors and I hope I have several more years to enjoy our life together.
