STORIES

Juliet

Juliet was a beautiful kitty, with the loveliest soul. She was the primary companion to a child, age 11; and a beloved family pet of 6 years. She was a healthy, primarily indoor cat, who only occasionally went outside. On May 13, 2026, we believe that Juliet was struck and killed by a vehicle near our residence in Ross, CA. Rather than contacting authorities or seeking veterinary assistance, the responsible party transported her remains more than six miles to 76 Belvedere Street (off East Francisco Blvd.) in San Rafael, wrapped her in a blanket, and left her under a staircase. We were not notified until the following day, May 14, 2026, when Marin Humane Society called after retrieving her remains and scanning her microchip. Due to the 24-hour delay and the manner in which Juliet was transported and abandoned, we continued to look for her, and were denied the opportunity to pursue emergency veterinary care, conduct a timely investigation, or say a proper farewell.
